Astronauts, Aliens, and Apaches? What could possibly go wrong?
Working for a billionaire space entrepreneur has its perks a nice paycheck, free room and board, and all the space flight hours a guy could want. But everything has a price. Astronaut Noah Wright has survived an alien attack, time travel and a wormhole, but the Apache princess he brought back through time may be the death of him.
Ela, only daughter of Chief Itza-Chu of the Mescalero Apaches, finds herself out of place and out of time. Everything she knows of her early 1800's life has vanished. Her savior and protector, Noah, is kind, but he’s not her family and certainly not Apache. Her only wish is to get home, but returning through the wormhole that brought her to the future threatens more than her past, causing her to have to rediscover what home really is.
The Astronaut Princess Cosmic Cowboys Series Book 2 eBook Lisa Medley
After having been introduced to and loving the surprising combination of indians, cowboys (space cowboys, that is - and gorgeous they are, too) and science fiction in Lisa Medley's first book in her Cosmic Cowboys series, Space Cowboys and Indians, I can happily report that the author has done it again with The Astronaut's Princess! I truly loved Ela and Noah's story, and I especially loved these two as people. Ela is a plucky, independent-minded Indian Princess, whose outlook on life deviates somewhat from Apache tradition. Debunking Hollywood stereotypes is always a good thing, too. Three cheers to Ela's father, Chief Itza-Chu, for allowing her to travel life's journey in her own way. Noah is such a sweety and so deserves to finally be happy with a loved one of his own.Without giving anything away, what I really enjoyed about this book is the intermingling of the Mescalero tribe's history with the science fiction elements of the story to produce a perfectly plausible plot, which brings together life on a present-day Indian Reservation and the excitement and danger of space (and time) travel.
Having brought Ela from the 1800s forward to the present time via a wormhole in order to save her life, Noah proves just how strong and noble of character he is when he constantly worries about how Ela will adapt to her new life in a new time. He goes out of his way to ensure she is as happy as possible but feels bad about abandoning her to carry on with his work in space. It's wonderful to watch Ela and Noah at first treading carefully despite their feelings, especially in Noah's case, and then surrendering to their serendipitous and uniquely special connection.
One of my favourite lines: "No wonder his soldier was still at attention." The intimate moments between them are deliciously sexy and contribute in a very sweet way to solidifying their relationship and future together.
I certainly hope we will see more of Tessa and Cole, the stars of Space Cowboys and Indians, and Ela and Noah, as well as new characters and more engrossing adventures in Lisa Medley's original and richly imagined sci-fi world.

The Astronaut Princess Cosmic Cowboys Series Book 2 eBook Lisa Medley Reviews
Loved it. I like the story. Lisa knows how to keep her readers interested. I can't wait to read her next novel.
Sexy and Intriguing! Fun, quick read - unique story line.
Not many people could pair a 19th-century Apache princess with a near future astronaut, but Medley makes it work. This book is sexy fun!
Wonderful wrap-up!
Lisa takes you on a fun ride with her books. I recommend reading Space Cowboys and Indians first.
It and The Astronaut's Princess are great stand alones but you will want the full effect by reading in order.
As a Princess taken from your quiet Indian village, horses for travel, then jumped forward into a foreign
land so strange with spaceships, cars, noise and people so different from your tribe, all you can think about
is going back where you belong. Can her Astronaut get her back through the worm hole and home?
Enjoy finding out.
When Noah, a washout from the NASA program, is offered a chance to become an astronaut with a private enterprise, he jumps at the chance. Unfortunately, he and his fellow astronauts end up going back in time, bringing home an Apache princess, and then things get real complicated. And that’s before the aliens arrive. Author Lisa Medley writes an amusing and warm space adventure liberally sprinkled with romance that takes the reader on a wild journey. She has a knack for taking two seemingly disparate elements ( Astronauts & Apaches? Space & Cowboys? ) and making it work in a way that makes perfect sense. If you’ve ever wanted to shoot for stars and go for your dream, you’ll enjoy the Cosmic Cowboy series about characters who are doing the same. You don’t have to be a fan of science fiction or science fiction romance to enjoy The Astronaut’s Princess or Space Cowboys & Indians.
When I pick up a book by Ms Medley, I expect to be thoroughly entertained, and, once again, I was with The Astronaut's Princess!
Ela was an Apache princess -- until she was brought through a wormhole in an effort to save her life because she had a severe case of the measles.
Noah was the pilot of the space ship bringing her and his friends, Tess and Cole, 250 years into the future!
Now, Ela feels like a guinea pig, though she has no idea what that is. She only speaks Apache, after all. There are devices to translate for her, but she really just wants to be freed from the area where she had been kept for weeks and be with Noah when she can. She has asked, repeatedly, that he take her home (meaning back to her own time), but he tries to explain he CAN NOT do that--at least without opening another wormhole, which he considers too dangerous.
Ela stows away on Noah's space ship and faints due to insufficient oxygen. Fortunately, he hears her and gets her into the crew area where she can breathe.
What will they do? Is there a solution to their problems? What if a wormhole is opened accidentally? A great read all the way through!
